As all horse people know, whether you have 5-50 horses it takes a village to make sure it is all running smoothly. Here at Murphy Farm, our team is made up of highly educated horsemen who have backgrounds as Trainers, Equine Nutritionists, Equine Therapists, Professional Grooms/Caregivers, Equine Competitors, and more. Murphy Farm was started in 1992 by George & Gail Murphy and has evolved into a place where equestrians come to compete, where mares come to have their babies, where horses come to have their wounds, medications, and medical needs managed, and where horses just come to have a break from the hustle and bustle of being an athlete. Our Foaling and Lay up Division was inspired by Chris Kuhn (Alie’s Dad) who trained and bred quality babies for over 30 years. He continues to raise babies at Murphy Farm, taking trips back and forth to Kentucky to continue his education and improve on breeding, and foaling practices. The team here at Murphy Farm has specialized in wound care for 20+ years. We have learned and are continuously learning extensive wound care from personal experiences, working at race tracks, and other farms. The important, and most valuable thing about our team here is that we all come from different sides of the horse industry, and can bring different perspectives, ideas and experiences to the table.
